Mrs. Florie Rampersad Baran

January 5, 1940 - July 29, 2021

Florie Rampersad Baran was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on July 29, 2021. Florie left her earthly family peacefully in her sleep at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia. Florie was a former resident of Maryland and had resided here for the past sixteen years. She had attended Bush Chapel A. M. E. Zion Church. Florie was preceded by her Husband, Harry Persad Baran and Parents, Joseph and Rosana Rampersad. She is survived by three sisters, Sheila Taylor, Alexandria (Ralphie) Herman, and Jean Mohammad, and seven children, Angena (Satnarine) Marajh, Mala Lovelace, Kelvin Baran, Sheed (Judy) Baran, Paula (Tony) Jack, Samuel (Monique) Rampersad, and Alfreino (Amphon) Johnson. Florie was a beloved grandmother to 24 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Florie was born on January 5, 1940 in the Rousillac District in Trinidad and Tobago to Joseph and Rosana Rampersad. She was the first of four children. While her life was full of hardships, she fearlessly faced her challenges with faith, determination, and grit. She loved her children to the best of her abilities with all her heart and provided for them even as she had to go without. While she never had the opportunity to go to school, she learned to read the Bible as it was her source of strength. She was a prayer warrior and it’s believed that her prayers have provided protection for her family. Even as her family is not yet ready for her to go, Florie has prepared herself for this next chapter of her journey to her Heavenly Father’s house to sing his praises forever. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table beford me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I shall dwell in the house of the lord for ever. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 2:00 P. M. from the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. D. Louis Patterson officiating. Interment will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
